I simply cannot believe that there are only 20 days left (including today) before Christmas. I feel like I still have so much to do…
We had a very active weekend and while we accomplished a lot, it really doesn’t feel like it! Saturday was spent finishing up our leaf raking and cleaning up our flower gardens as it was our last opportunity to put leaves out on the street for the town to pick up. We ended up doing yard work for well over 5 hours and man oh man was I tired when we finished. In the middle of that our new couches arrived! We absolutely love them. We are still trying to get used to the fact that the room is furnished (well, mostly furnished). On Saturday evening we ran a few errands and picked up one lonely Xmas present for my future sister-in-law. And, that is the only present that we have in our house at this time! The present looks so lonely sitting on the chair by itself.
Sunday we helped our neighbors decorate our street. In our town, we have gas lights that run up and down the roads (rather than street lamps). And, for the past couple of years, we’ve helped our neighbors hang greens on either side of the gas lights. We get the greens from the local rotary club, tie them into bunches, but a red bow on them and then they are hung on the gas lights. It looks beautiful and each day as I walk to the train I look at those greens and they just make me smile!
Once we were finished with hanging the greens, we ran to the grocery store as we hadn’t been in a couple of weeks… needed to stock up for cooking making and for meals! After getting home, I felt like I was just about ready to collapse. So, I headed to the couch for a nice long nap. I love Sunday naps. It is funny how as kids we never want to take naps but as adults… I can’t wait to take a nap!
I didn’t forget about my healthy step this weekend. My healthy step was resting. This was the first weekend in weeks that I did not work out on either Saturday or Sunday. I did enough other activity to keep myself busy, I really didn’t need to be working out on top of it.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything festive? Are you ready for Christmas?
