Is it too early?

Last night was the dinner I had been looking forward to all week.  When we went to Costco this weekend, I picked up some whole wheat wraps.  Adam and I then looked at each other and instantly headed straight for the deli meats.  I had intended upon getting the whole wheat wraps just to have around but for some reason we both seemed to think that turkey wraps would be a good idea this week.  When we buy pre-sliced turkey at Costco it is definitely a bit of a commitment for us as there are only two of us in our household and we don’t want any food to go to waste.  Since buying the meat, lettuce, cheese, and wraps on Saturday, we’ve had turkey wraps for dinner three times (Saturday, Sunday, and then last night).  I might even change our weekly menu around tomorrow night and have them again.  I don’t know what it is … but I simply can’t get enough of them.

Anyway, so last night I was so hungry that I decided to have two of them for dinner rather than having a snack after dinner.  I had a side of broccoli florets… what can I say, I am also really into broccoli recently. :)

As you are most definitely learning, I am a creature of habit.

Today’s workout was another day of intervals designed to push my aerobic limits.

It definitely didn’t feel as tough as last week but towards the end I really struggled to hit the appropriate heart rate zones as you can see in my results below.  It seemed, though, as I was doing the workout that I was generally hitting more of the appropriate zones this week than last.

According to the assessment, my time in zone 1 (heart rate 150 – 160) was lower than anticipated.  One of the challenges that I am finding with this type of a workout is getting my heart rate down quickly enough.  I am getting better about building up to get to a higher heart rate so that I am generally hitting that at the appropriate time but I am definitely not so good about getting it back to the lower level.  I probably just need to plan for that the way that I plan to build up.

I followed my cardio workout with 30 minutes of strength training.  I am actually really starting to enjoy the weights.  I do probably  need to step it up there and increase my number of reps.  It definitely isn’t as challenging this week as it was last week!

It is Wednesday and I am already looking forward to the weekend.  We don’t have any major plans yet other than to rest / relax and pick our our snowman. Do you have any plans yet?  Is it too early to talk about weekend plans?
