Returns & New Purchases

After hiking this weekend and both of us ending up with very sore feet from hiking in sneakers, we decided it was time for us to invest in some good hiking shoes/boots.  Before we headed out to REI, Adam and I decided to look at our new rugs again to see if we liked them in the natural sunlight.  And, the greens, unfortunately, just didn’t match so we decided to take the rugs back today as the store was just past REI.

Our first stop was REI where we were going to look at hiking shoes.  I tried on a few pairs but just couldn’t find anything that fit exactly right… when I noticed that their winter boots were on sale.  I haven’t owned a pair of snow boots since high school so I decided to try on a pair of boots.  And, now I am a proud owner of a snow boots!  Too bad there isn’t any snow to go with them!  I also managed to snag a very cool Marmot jacket that I am super excited about.  I haven’t had a good jacket for day to day winter wearing in a long time!

We left REI and went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to return the rugs we had purchased yesterday.  We were probably there for an hour and finally picked out replacement rugs for the three we were returning AND we picked out new rugs for our bathroom!  This was a real victory as it takes us a VERY VERY long time to make decorating decisions.  We tested them out this afternoon and they look incredible!  We seriously should have replaced our old gross rugs ages ago.

After hitting up the grocery store for some great deals – we got home in time to watch a movie and make dinner.  Tonight was kielbasa, broccoli (sauerkraut for Adam), and noodles.  We don’t have kielbasa too often but I really do like it… I seem to forget and be pleasantly surprised every time we have it.

I LOVE REI. too bad you couldn’t find any good hiking boots. The fit is so incredibly important though so it’s better to take your time :) The Marmot jacket is so nice! That’s one of my prefered brands for outdoor gear. Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend! Where did you go hiking?
