It sure is starting to feel like spring here in the New York City area! What a pleasant commute this morning… I think that by this afternoon I will be wishing that I had worn a lighter jacket but it was just a tad to chilly this am to leave the wool jacket behind.
I know everyone keeps talking about what an unusual winter it has been and I am right there with them BUT I am looking forward to moving past this weather and into the spring. I love doing work outside in the spring / summer and have some plans for some of our flower beds that I am gearing up for… we are going to be continuing our work on some of the garden borders and ripping out some of the older plants that we aren’t really into and replacing them with flowering plants.
Enough of my pining for spring and on to my workouts or I’ll never get anything done today!
Today’s workout was 90 minutes of intervals in zones one, two, and three (the 90 minutes includes five minutes of warm up and five minutes of cool down). Two minutes in zone one, two minutes in zone two, followed by one minute in zone three.
This week, I definitely had some improvements versus last week. I ended up spending 4 more minutes this week in zone 3 than I did last week with this same workout! I was still 8 minutes short versus what they wanted in zone 3 but I consider those extra four minutes to be a real victory!
Following the New Leaf workout, I grabbed my weights for 30 minutes of weight lifting. On Monday, I had concentrated mostly on upper body. Today I decided to do a bit of everything – legs, arms, chest, etc. Hope everyone is having a good start to their day!
